The eTrans, built by Trans Tech Bus, will be featured in an hour-long segment that profiles California school districts that are taking creative approaches to battling the high rate of asthma. This high rate of asthma in local students has reportedly been attributed to air pollution.
Kings Canyon Unified School District, which is featured in the Valley PBS segment, has joined this movement by adding the all-electric, zero-emissions eTrans school bus to its fleet.
Trans Tech officials said that the eTrans continues to gain national attention since its debut at last year’s National Association for Pupil Transportation conference in Cincinnati.
The Valley PBS segment airs Wednesday, June 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. The show can also be viewed online after the initial broadcast at www.valleypbs.org/kidscount.
