Two EV charging companies have just combined forces for an even bigger impact. PowerFlex has just acquired The Mobility House North America. As part of the transaction, The Mobility House will become a minority shareholder in the combined business.

The acquisition brings together two experts in smart charging and fleet electrification, creating a stronger platform to support the accelerating transition to electrification across North America. According to the announcement, the combined organization will offer customers a broader suite of software, energy, and infrastructure solutions while advancing the shared vision of enabling cleaner, more flexible electric grids through intelligent charging and bidirectional energy technologies.

The acquisition combines two complementary strengths in fleet electrification: PowerFlex knows intelligent charging solutions for large-scale commercial fleets, including last-mile delivery, municipal, and utility fleets. The Mobility House brings deep expertise in electrifying transit agencies and school bus fleets, plus bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid integration.

The Mobility House’s expertise in bidirectional charging will help accelerate the development and deployment of vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-building capabilities, further supporting the companies’ vision of transforming electric vehicles into flexible grid resources. Their customers will gain access to PowerFlex’s extensive project development and engineering capabilities, public charging features, and integrated energy management platform. They believe this will create new opportunities for heavy-duty operators to optimize energy costs and sustainability outcomes.

Greg Hintler, who has led The Mobility House North America since its founding as an independent North American entity, alongside with much of his team, join PowerFlex, ensuring continuity for the customers, partners, and channel relationships the company has built. The companies expect to integrate their software platforms over time to create a unified customer experience and enhance product capabilities with expanded AI-driven features.

Existing customer operations and services are expected to continue without disruption throughout the integration process.
