New York District Rolls Out First RIDE Electric School Bus in Push for Greener Transit
The new addition signals Lake Shore Central’s steps toward fleet electrification, with support from Gorman Enterprises and RIDE Mobility.

Lake Shore Central School District officially welcomed its first electric school bus from RIDE Mobility last month, marking a milestone for clean transportation and RIDE’s debut in New York.
The new addition, RIDE’s Type A Bus, nicknamed The Achiever, comes with standard comfort and safety features such as air conditioning, three-point seat belts, and a 12-year battery warranty.
While Lake Shore Central has yet to detail specific timelines publicly, according to a RIDE Mobility statement, the district has expressed plans to electrify its fleet in alignment with New York’s push toward zero-emission vehicles.
The successful delivery was made possible through a partnership with Gorman Enterprises, RIDE’s dealership partner in Western New York.
“Gorman has been a supporter and believer of the RIDE electric buses and our technology for years, and we are thrilled to partner with them,” said Spencer Sydorko, senior regional sales manager, East region, at BYD and RIDE.
Looking ahead, Gorman Enterprises will continue to support future RIDE school bus deliveries throughout Western and Northern New York as the shift toward greener school transportation continues.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Lake Shore Central School District on the delivery of their first electric school bus — one of many RIDE electric buses coming to New York!” Sydorko said.
