Lion Electric Gets 200-Bus Conditional Order
Langs Bus Lines in Ontario wants deliveries of the all-electric school buses to start in 2022. The purchase depends on Langs Bus Lines receiving a grant through Infrastructure Canada's Zero-Emission Transit Fund (ZETF).

If Langs Bus Lines receives a grant from Infrastructure Canada's Zero-Emission Transit Fund (ZETF), the Lion Electric buses should be delivered gradually between 2022 and 2026.

The Lion Electric Co. has received a conditional purchase order from Langs Bus Lines in Ontario for 200 all-electric school buses, with deliveries planned gradually in 2022 through 2026.
It's conditioned on the satisfactory grant of non-repayable contributions to Langs Bus Lines under Infrastructure Canada's Zero-Emission Transit Fund (ZETF). Under the ZETF program, to which Langs Bus Lines has applied, the Canadian government aims to invest $2.75 billion over five years to support public transit and school bus operators in the transition to electrification.
"It is very encouraging to see so much momentum in the market for zero-emission school buses throughout Canada, and Lion is proud to have the opportunity to be part of this large deployment in Ontario in collaboration with a great partner like Langs Bus Lines," said Marc Bedard, founder and CEO of Lion Electric. "We look forward to future deployments of electric school buses in Ontario."
Langs Bus Lines Limited operates more than 600 school buses and minibuses throughout Southern Ontario.
"Langs Bus Lines has been operating a LionC school bus since 2019, thanks to the Electric School Bus Pilot Program of the Ontario Climate Change Action Plan," said Kevin Langs, vice-preseident of Langs Buses. "As we clearly saw the benefits of all-electric vehicles, we are pleased to purchase 200 LionC electric school buses to transport thousands of students throughout Southern Ontario. With these new buses, we will provide a safe, reliable, and innovative transportation solution to our students."
In October, as School Bus Fleetpreviously reported, Lion Electric received a conditional purchase order for 1,000 electric school buses from Student Transportation of Canada.
