GreenPower Motor Company and the Zero-Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) are collaborating on a display and demonstration of electric school and transit buses outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
GreenPower, an electric-vehicle manufacturer and distributor, is showcasing its products at the West Curb of First Street at Constitution Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ZETA is a federal coalition focused on advocating for 100% EV sales by 2030.

According to a news release, the display and demonstration "will give members of Congress, administration officials, industry stakeholders, and school district personnel an opportunity to learn more about electric school buses and transit vehicles that meet 'Buy America' regulations."
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides $5 billion for the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus Program over the next five years to replace existing higher-emission school buses with zero- and low-emission models. The EPA's first funding opportunity includes $500 million in rebates for eligible applicants.
Under the EPA program, GreenPower's Type D BEAST school bus is eligible for a rebate of up to $375,000 and the Type A Nano BEAST can yield a rebate of $285,000. Online applications for rebates close Aug. 19.
