The Georgia Clean Energy Roadshow series concludes this week, with alternate fuel showcases in Macon and Savannah.
The event, founded by Georgia Public Service Commission Vice-Chairman Tim Echols and produced by Event Energy Partners, is set for Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at Mercer University's College of Engineering and Thursday at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The roadshow highlights advantages of switching to low- or zero-emission vehicles, as well as the supporting utility infrastructure programs and upcoming federal funding opportunities. It features companies such as Club Car, Blue Bird, and KIA. The event also has on display alternatively fueled school buses from Blue Bird and The Lion Electric.
"Middle Georgia is working to become a leader in clean energy, and our community leaders look forward to learning about the latest trends and newest opportunities in this year's roadshow," said Greg Boike, director of public administration for the Middle Georgia Regional Commission.
"The show is a resource for key connections for successful grants and project readiness," said Joy Kramer, the showcase producer.
Roadshow events are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Seminars also are streamed for online attendees.
