School bus fees banned in Indiana

School districts in the state can’t charge families for transportation to and from school, under a bill signed by Gov. Mitch Daniels. The legislation arose after annual bus fees of up to $475 were implemented in Franklin Township last year.

Durham raises $10K for Special Olympics chapter

Employees for the school bus contractor participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge in Lake Bluff, Ill., and raise $10,780 for Special Olympics Illinois Far West Suburban/Area 2, which serves athletes with intellectual disabilities in DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties. Durham also donates bus service to transport the plungers to and from the event location.

Student Transportation wins 4 new contracts

Two of the contracts are for operations in Connecticut, and the others are for operations in New Hampshire. Officials say the Connecticut contracts will add over $4.6 million in annualized revenues, while the New Hampshire agreements will add approximately $4.3 million in annualized revenues.
