SBF Electric School Bus Usage Webinar Now Online

The first of our two School Bus Fleet webinars on electrification, held Sept. 7, is now available online for registered users.

The webinar, titled Practical Tips for Electric Bus Usage and Funding, was sponsored by Blue Bird, IC Bus, and Thomas Built Buses. It features a conversation with:

• Halsey King, bus fleet maintenance consultant.
• Michelle Levinson, senior manager at the World Resources Institute.
• Frank Marasco, association manager for the Association of School Transportation Services of British Columbia.
• Wes Platt, School Bus Fleet executive editor.

Panelists discussed hurdles to fleet electrification, practical differences between diesel and battery-electric buses, safety concerns, technology adoption trends, and potential funding opportunities for cash-strapped school districts that are looking to make the change to electric school buses.
