FORT VALLEY, Ga. — IndustryWeek magazine has named Blue Bird Corp.'s North Georgia Body Co. plant among the top 10 winners for its 2007 "IW Best Plants in North America" competition.
The La Fayette plant has been in operation since 1982 and currently manufactures the Blue Bird Vision model school bus body.
Named a finalist in the competition in late September, it was selected from manufacturing facilities across North America for its dedication to continuous improvement and outstanding performance in safety, quality and productivity.
“I would just like to give my sincere appreciation to all of the team members of Blue Bird North Georgia for their contribution in achieving this prestigious award,” said Kevin Wood, the plant’s general manager. “We have been able to validate that the entire Blue Bird Corporation prides itself on being a leader, both in product and processes, in North American industry.”
Profiles of the 10 winning plants will appear in IndustryWeek’s January 2008 issue.
