MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Two boys allegedly beat their school bus driver Friday afternoon after she stopped the bus to discipline them, ABC 57 News reports.
The students, ages 7 and 8, were asked to calm down by bus aide Lucille Buke because they were throwing a lanyard across the bus. When the boys did not comply, driver Shaunda Gilbert stopped the bus to help Buke.
One of the boys became enraged and tried to leave the bus. When Gilbert attempted to stop him, he allegedly shoved her to the ground, jumped on her and grabbed her hair in order to slam her head against the floor. The other boy then joined the beating. Both boys are facing battery misdemeanor charges.
