CLACKAMAS, Ore. — On Oct. 10, two fifth-grade students called for help after their bus driver pulled to the side of the road, thinking she was having an allergic reaction.
As it turns out, she was having a stroke. After receiving a radio call from Makenze Mauldin and Terry Hamilton, the bus dispatch office called 911.
Both students were recognized at a recent school assembly, receiving an award for Outstanding Achievement for Citizenship.
The bus driver was recovering in a medical care facility.
