Seon Design, U.S. Computing to offer integrated solution
Seon’s vMax Live Plus real-time tracking system will be combined with U.S. Computing’s routing software — vMax Live Plus AVL data will be shared with the Compass web-based routing application. Officials say that pupil transporters will have the ability to conduct comparative analysis of planned versus actual routes, as well as generate reports on route efficiency, fleet performance and driver behavior.
Seon Design Inc. has agreed to integrate its vMax Live Plus real-time tracking system with U.S. Computing Inc.’s Compass routing software.
Officials said the integration will enable the two web-based applications to share vehicle positioning and routing data, which will provide school bus operators with greater insight to help streamline operations and improve efficiencies.
“We are excited about the opportunity to share live GPS data from vMax Live Plus with the Compass routing application,” said Peter Simmons, director of marketing at Seon. “With the integration, school bus operators will be able to use a single user interface to generate reports on route efficiency, fleet performance and driver behavior.”
The planned integration will involve the sharing of vMax Live Plus AVL data, such as vehicle speed and GPS coordinates, with the Compass web-based routing application. Fleet operators will then have the ability to conduct comparative analysis of planned versus actual routes, leveraging both live vehicle data and routing information.
“Seon is a company with proven technology that we are extremely pleased to partner with,” said Kerry Somerville, director of business development for U.S. Computing. “The integration of Seon technology and Compass routing will give school districts the ability to look at their planned routes and compare what the drivers are actually doing — all in the same window, in a true web-based system.”
Terry Akiyama, president of Seon Design, added that school transportation officials will be able to make more informed decisions about their fleet operations with the integrated solution.
