INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Mitch Daniels recently signed legislation that raises the speed limit for school buses on some roads.

The change goes into effect July 1.
The school bus speed limit of 40 mph on county and township highways remains the same.
Additionally, the legislation increases the maximum length for conventional school buses from 38 to 42 feet, also going into effect July 1.
