School bus driver teaches students through songs
Susan Flick’s goal is to make students feel a sense of friendship on the bus and establish learning on the way to school. She recently taught them a song about good nutrition and last year, she taught them a rap song about being respectful to others.
FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Fairfield City Schools bus driver Susan Flick has a fun and unique way of teaching her elementary school passengers about health and safety: she teaches them songs.
Flick’s goal is to make students feel a sense of friendship and safety on the bus and establish learning on the way to school, FOX19 reports.
She told the news source that she believes the reason why the kids love this method of learning is because everyone sings, regardless of whether they’re in fourth grade or first grade.
"Kids learn more when you sing songs and make it fun," she added.
One song Flick taught her students recently was about good nutrition. Last year, she taught them a rap song about being respectful to others, according to FOX19.
