At least one student died and 23 others went to the hospital after a crash involving an Ohio school bus collided with a Honda Odyssey and went off the road, overturning.
WLWT reported that, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the bus carried 52 children on an elementary school route when the Honda crossed from an eastbound lane of State Route 41 near Dayton. The bus, traveling west, swerved to avoid the Odyssey, but collided anyway, went off the right side of the road and overturned. Police said one student was ejected from the bus and died at the scene.

According to WHIO, the Honda was driven by 35-year-old Hermanio Joseph. Joseph and his passenger, Roberto Mompremier, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The school bus driver, Alfred Collier, suffered minor injuries but didn’t go to the hospital.
Northwestern Local Schools confirmed that there was an accident Tuesday morning. School went on as scheduled, although the afternoon preschool program was cancelled.
No charges had been reported yet.
