ARLINGTON, Va. — National Transportation Week 2008 will be held May 11-17 in Detroit, with a variety of events scheduled to promote awareness about the importance of transportation and to educate youth about transportation-related careers.
As part of the week’s events, a Clean School Buses press conference will be held at NextEnergy, a non-profit corporation promoting alternative energy. On view will be examples of the 68 school buses that have been retrofitted with diesel oxidation catalysts by NextEnergy, in partnership with Cummins Bridgeway and the Environmental Protection Agency, to eliminate harmful emissions from Michigan’s environment.
