BUCKMAN, Minn. — A motorist here allegedly caused a three-vehicle crash on Friday when she attempted to pass a car that was stopped behind a stopped school bus.
Jane Gerwing, 60, was traveling westbound on the roadway at about 7:29 a.m. when she tried to pass the car, which was being driven by a 17-year-old motorist, according to a news release from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office. At that point she noticed that a school bus was stopped in front of the car. Gerwing collided with the car, which then crashed into the school bus. The bus had its caution lights flashing at the time of the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
Gerwing was transported from the scene by private vehicle with unknown injuries. The other motorist, the bus driver, and passengers were not injured. Gerwing’s van and the other motorist’s car received significant damage. The school bus sustained minor damage.
The accident is still under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
