The installations continue for school bus camera provider Gatekeeper Systems. The manufacturer has added new districts or expanded contracts with its user base in Missouri, Florida, Virginia, and Nebraska.

About the Contracts

In Missouri, Gatekeeper announced a contract with “a major school transportation company” to install video on a school district fleet of over 200 school buses. Under the contract, more than 90% of the systems will be factory-installed by the bus manufacturers. The buses will be equipped with mobile data collectors (MDCs), interior video, and subscribe to the company’s video management software services for analysis and storage. The school district is a new customer, and the contract is valued at more than $900,000 USD plus monthly subscriptions.

In Florida, it has an expansion with a school district to install MDCs, 360 surround vision, and interior video on approximately 21 additional buses. It will also subscribe to the company’s AI-assisted video management offering. The district was an early adopter of the company’s hosted subscription services with 11 subscriptions and is now expanding to 32 subscriptions. The expansion is valued at approximately $180,000 USD plus monthly subscriptions.

In Virginia, a district is upgrading its fleet of approximately 100 buses with new video, mobile data collectors, and Live View Wireless subscriptions. It is one of the company’s 3,500 existing customers; the upgrade is valued at approximately $315,000 USD plus monthly subscriptions valued at approximately $34,800 USD per year.

In Nebraska, the company will provide video solutions and software subscriptions for an unidentified school district fleet of over 70 buses. The company has been contracted by an OEM bus manufacturer for factory-installed mobile data collectors and interior video. The transportation provider will also subscribe to the company’s video management software services for video analysis and storage. The project relates to a school district that is new to the company and is valued at approximately $307,000 USD plus monthly subscriptions.

About the Products

Gatekeeper’s 360 Surround Vision is a perimeter visibility system that provides a surround view of the school bus and is automatically activated when the bus is reversing or making side turns. The surround view is displayed on a specialized rearview mirror system, allowing drivers to monitor children all around the bus.

Live View Wireless uses mobile data connectivity to provide real-time access to all video and data on the MDC while the school bus is on the road. Authorized personnel can view live video feeds, access live GPS tracking, and monitor all MDC data from any location with internet access. Districts can respond to incidents immediately using Gatekeeper’s G4 Vision hosted software, which displays the map location of the entire bus fleet and records key data, including bus speed and operating parameters.
