EverDriven announced the general availability of TripCentral, its transportation management platform, to all school districts it serves following an early access program launched in July.

The platform allows school transportation departments to submit trip requests, monitor vehicle locations, manage student information, and review transportation history. According to the company, feedback from districts participating in the early access program helped shape the platform's current features.

"Our student population changes constantly, especially for students who qualify for McKinney-Vento support and students whose IEPs call for new transportation arrangements," said Anthony Smiley, director of transportation at Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. "TripCentral lets us add students and schools as soon as we have the information and get trip requests submitted without starting from scratch each time. Our district runs 350 trips per day with EverDriven, and the process feels seamless."

TripCentral's Transportation Management Features

The platform includes several tools designed to support daily student transportation operations:

  • Real-time trip tracking: Vehicle locations refresh every five to 10 seconds, with estimated arrival times for each stop and filters to identify late trips and no-shows.
  • Student and school management: Transportation staff can maintain student and school profiles separately from trip requests, access trip histories, and specify pickup and drop-off locations, including designated entrances or curbside locations.
  • Trip scheduling: Saved student profiles can automatically populate trip requests, which can also be saved as drafts. The system supports different morning and afternoon addresses for students traveling between households.
  • Shared transportation data: Caregivers can also access vehicle location and arrival information from EverDriven's SafeRoute driver application through its RideAware platform.

According to EverDriven, the system uses Google navigation data through SafeRoute to provide consistent trip information across the district management platform and caregiver application.

District Feedback Shapes Platform Development

"TripCentral began with what districts told us they needed: visibility into past, present, and future trips, along with an ability to make changes on demand," said EverDriven CEO Mitch Bowling. "Our early access partners put it to work and helped us refine it. Now every district we serve can manage transportation with that same level of visibility and ease. Our combination of modern tools, automation, and hands-on support drives the consistency districts across the country have come to expect from EverDriven."

District administrators will receive email invitations to activate TripCentral accounts. EverDriven is also providing training materials, including recorded demonstrations, a user guide, and answers to frequently asked questions.
