Samsara has launched Driver Perks, a rewards program that gives professional drivers access to discounts and offers across categories including food and beverage, wellness, fitness, travel, and personal development.

The program is free for eligible drivers and their fleets. It is initially launching in the U.S. Drivers within Samsara’s network, including those working in passenger transportation, can participate.

Driver Feedback Shapes Samsara’s Perks Program

Samsara developed the program with input from its Driver Council and surveys of drivers across its network.

In the survey, 64% of drivers identified fitness and wellness among the products and services they value, followed by food and beverage at 58% and learning and personal development at 51%. When asked about their well-being, 79% cited being healthy and active, while 64% identified having time to rest and recharge.

The program launches with offers from more than 50 participating companies. Each company establishes its own offer terms, and drivers redeem offers directly with the participating brand.

"Our drivers carry the most precious cargo there is: people. They put so much into their work every day, and they deserve to feel supported and recognized," said Lon Ingram, director of safety and risk management at All Aboard America. "Samsara Driver Perks is another way we can do that, without having to build an entirely new program ourselves. It's a win for drivers and our industry as a whole."

How Drivers Access the Program

Eligible drivers can access Driver Perks through the Samsara Driver App, a direct web link, or a QR code provided by their organization. Samsara said it will add more participating companies and offers over time.

The program arrives as transportation organizations continue looking for ways to recruit, retain, and recognize professional drivers. For school transportation operations using Samsara, the program provides another potential employee benefit without requiring the operation to develop or administer its own rewards program.

“We've spent more than a decade building technology to help keep drivers safe and efficient on the road,” said Johan Land, chief product officer at Samsara. “Driver Perks is about recognizing them for that work in a way that's practical and real. We asked drivers what would matter to them, and we built Driver Perks using that feedback. Launching it during our Driver Appreciation Month makes it all the more meaningful.”

Samsara launched Driver Perks as part of its inaugural Driver Appreciation Month and said it plans to expand availability to drivers outside the U.S. in the future.
