ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — School buses aren't just the safest mode of transportation for students, they're also an interesting place to get married.
Monique Torres (née Romero), the administrative assistant, receptionist and sales coordinator for Zia Bus Sales Inc., and her fiancé, Enrique Torres, were married on board a Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2 school bus on June 21.
"My fiancé and I just woke up that morning and decided to get married in a school bus," said Torres.
During the ceremony, the bus was parked in one of the service bays on the Zia Bus Sales lot. Clair Dutton, who is comptroller/general manager of Zia Bus Sales, Monique Torres' supervisor and an ordained minister, served as celebrant. The company's mechanics witnessed the ceremony.
