Congressman to push for National School Bus Safety Week

Baron Hill (D-Ind.) will introduce a presidential proclamation next month designating the third week in October of every year as National School Bus Safety Week. Pupil transporters are urged to show their support by contacting their congressmen and congresswomen and encouraging them to vote “yes” when the bill comes to the floor.

Congressman to push for National School Bus Safety Week

Under a presidential proclamation that Congressman Baron Hill will introduce next month, the third week in October of every year would be designated National School Bus Safety Week.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Baron Hill (D-Ind.) will introduce a presidential proclamation next month designating the third week in October of every year as National School Bus Safety Week. 

Gerry Oram, a member of the National School Bus Safety Week committee, is urging industry professionals to show their support for this effort by contacting their congressmen and congresswomen and encouraging them to vote “yes” when the bill comes to the floor.

Oram is also encouraging members of the pupil transportation community to contact Congressman Hill for his support of the industry. His contact information is as follows:
