NEW WASHINGTON, Ohio — School bus and transportation seating and safety product manufacturer C.E. White Co. is now offering the MDZ (Minimize Danger Zone) Shield, and it has been installed on Buckeye Central Local Schools buses for evaluation as part of a pilot program.
As SBFpreviously reported, the MDZ Shield is a BASF polyurethane guard that acts as a safeguard in front of the rear dual wheels of a school bus. It is designed to deflect a child out of the path of the school bus and minimize the extent of serious or fatal injury in the danger zone around the bus, officials said.
C.E. White Co. said it is proud to offer the MDZ Shield to enhance safety outside of the school bus. The company said that the device's firm, durable finish is resistant to scratches, cracking, peeling, UV rays and dust, and can withstand any road condition or terrain, in any season.
It has also been designed to withstand curb impact and is built to last for the lifespan of the bus, according to the company.
