Bus strikes 3 teens in crosswalk
The driver is placed on paid leave after his bus hits the middle school students just after classes let out on Tuesday. Police say he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The Colorado State Patrol has launched an investigation into an incident in which a Jeffco Public Schools driver's bus struck three teenage girls on Tuesday, KUSA-TV reports.
The bus struck the Summit Ridge Middle School students in a crosswalk just after classes let out for the day. The driver, who is a substitute, has been placed on paid leave while the investigation is underway.
Police said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and has not been cited for the accident. All three girls are expected to be OK.
