Rubber tire stops fail to anchor bus
HAVERHILL, Mass. — Haverhill school officials said the stopping blocks placed in front of a bus' tires were faulty, allowing it to roll down a steep street and crash onto the roof of a garage. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — Board members of an Illinois school district met last Friday to discuss the ramifications of a bus driver's actions, and her future with the district. The driver was banned from performing her daily routes on April 26 after she allowed a woman to board the bus. The woman was attempting to escape from her estranged husband.
