HARRISBURG, Pa. — The state’s driving laws for school buses would also apply to school vans under legislation set to be introduced in the House of Representatives, WHTM reports.
The bill, authored by Rep. Gary Williams, would require school van drivers to activate the vehicle’s four-way flashers at least 100 feet before stopping, or at least 300 feet when traveling more than 35 mph.
Other vehicles would not be permitted to pass the van when it is stopped to pick up or drop off children, or when the van has its four-way flashers activated.
