Teen arrested for showing gun to bus full of students

Students on a Kenton County (Ky.) School District bus alerted their driver to what they believed was a gun being pointed at the bus by a teenager, although the weapon was later discovered to be a BB gun. The driver shut the door, drove away and called police.

2 arrested for stealing special-needs school bus

The suspects allegedly stole the bus from a lot in Crownsville, Maryland, struck a tower with it, broke the windows, crashed it in the woods, and attempted to set it on fire before abandoning it. The suspects were apparently under the influence of alcohol and were looking for change to buy cigarettes, police say.

After a parent entered a school bus without the driver’s permission, the superintendent of Manalapan-Englishtown (N.J.) Regional School District told parents in a letter that future incidents will prompt an incident report to the police, an investigation into whether charges should be filed, and revocation of bus privileges for all children of the parent for the remainder of the year.

Durham donates services to Special Olympics event

The contractor donated 10 buses and drivers to transport participants of the Special Olympics of Illinois’ annual Torch Run Plane Pull. Teams from local law enforcement agencies and the general public participated in a tug-of-war challenge on Saturday against an Airbus A300 aircraft weighing more than 180,000 pounds.

Woman arrested for following school bus

Scarlotte Freeman was allegedly following the bus for no apparent reason just yards away from Henry F. Moss Middle School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The bus driver immediately notified staff in the bus garage, who contacted school personnel, who worked with the police department. Police charged Freeman with disorderly conduct and harassment and spoke to four children who said Freeman tried to lure them into her vehicle.
