Cellcontrol technology designed to prevent distracted driving

The technology uses a unique Bluetooth trigger unit coupled with a mobile application on a cell phone to stop the temptation to call, e-mail, text or surf the Internet while a vehicle is in motion. The drivers, who serve Boston Public Schools, are members of United Steelworkers of America Local 8751, and officials for the district say the strike appears to be connected to the union’s opposition to changes underway from the district’s contractor, Veolia Transportation.
