Film on 2nd life of school bus now on DVD
"La Camioneta" follows a decommissioned school bus from an auction in Pennsylvania to its new life in Guatemala, where it is repainted and repurposed to provide public transportation between the highlands and Guatemala City. The film is available on DVD to purchase, rent or preview.

"La Camioneta" follows a decommissioned school bus from an auction in Pennsylvania to its new life in Guatemala, where it is repainted and repurposed to provide public transportation between the highlands and Guatemala City.
The profession is fraught with peril: The camioneta drivers and fare collectors are often the target of extortion, and many have been killed in the line of duty.
An early version of “La Camioneta” was screened at the National Association for Pupil Transportation conference in Cincinnati in 2011, and it was released in theaters earlier this year.
Bullfrog Films, the U.S. distributor of the DVD, offers free previews for purchase evaluation to schools.
Seventy-two-minute and 52-minute versions of the film are available on one DVD, with subtitles in English or Spanish, closed captioning and scene selection.
