Zonar partners with ATG for usage-based insurance programs
The ATG Clearinghouse offers insurance carriers permission-based access to Zonar customers’ vehicle and driving history data to assist underwriting and claims.
SEATTLE — Fleet telematics provider Zonar has formed an agreement with ATG Risk Solutions under which Zonar clients can opt in to risk management and underwriting programs offered by ATG Clearinghouse commercial insurance carrier customers.
ATG Risk Solutions is the creator of the FAIR Score, a safe driving index compiled from driving data sourced from a telematics clearinghouse.
The ATG Clearinghouse allows auto insurers to access a standardized and verified set of vehicle analytics and data on the driven environment to enhance their underwriting methods. Company officials said that by participating in the clearinghouse, telematics service provider fleet management companies (TSPs) such as Zonar enable their fleet customers to improve safety scores and garner insurance benefits.
“As a founding TSP partner of the ATG Clearinghouse, Zonar continues its leadership role by helping make usage-based insurance a reality for insurers and insureds alike,” said Chris Carver, founder and president of ATG Risk Solutions.
ATG gathers, stores, normalizes and standardizes vehicle and driving data, facilitating the private and secure transaction of data between TSPs and insurers, with the consent of the policyholder/fleet owner. Company officials said that in doing so, ATG serves as a single, standardized data source that integrates with the insurance carriers’ underwriting process.
“Thanks to the ATG Clearinghouse, our fleet customers now have a means of sharing their vehicle and driving data with their insurers in a protected, yet transparent, way that will help them better manage risk, simplify claims and reduce losses,” said Brett Brinton, Zonar CEO and co-founder. “This revolutionary data-sharing program will undoubtedly save lives and increase the profitability of our clients.”
