BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Scarlotte Freeman was arrested last week for allegedly following a school bus for no apparent reason, Officer Ronnie Ward of Bowling Green Police told WBKO. Officers told the news outlet Freeman was following the bus just yards away from Henry F. Moss Middle School.

Although she had no physical contact with students, police charged Freeman with disorderly conduct and harassment on Wednesday, and she was released after spending nearly one hour in jail, according to WBKO. As the investigation continued, Freeman was arrested again on Thursday after police spoke to four victims, ages 3 to 11. They said Freeman tried to lure them into her vehicle by saying their parents had contacted her and wanted the children to go with her, Ward told the news outlet.

The bus driver’s awareness of his surroundings led to the arrest, Morgan Watson, a spokesman for Warren County Public Schools, told the news outlet. Watson added that the driver immediately notified staff in the bus garage, who contacted school personnel, who worked with the Bowling Green Police department.

Warren County Schools told WBKO the school board has no reports of Freeman being on school grounds. Freeman was released from jail on Thursday night, and detectives continue to investigate Freeman's interaction with students, the news outlet reports.
