Bobit Business Media, the largest fleet media, marketing services, and business intelligence provider, and parent company of School Bus Fleet, is hosting a new webinar: “Returning to Service Post-COVID: Are You Prepared?”

School closures brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic have so quickly changed pupil transportation in unforeseen ways, tasking operators with other responsibilities. Although many district transportation departments are still able to stay partially in operation and serve students by delivering meals and instructional materials and use school buses to provide Wi-Fi where it is needed, questions remain on how to handle other tasks.

In this seminar, sponsored by Kajeet, Safe Fleet, and Transfinder, SBF will discuss with industry experts how pupil transporters can optimize this time by shifting gears from many of the typical day-to-day transportation tasks to getting ahead on the countless back-burner responsibilities that will still demand attention once schools reopen.

The discussion will address topics such as:

•    Tips on planning the next school year while working from home.
•    Ways to get routing, inspections, IEP requests, and testing in place.
•    How to handle scheduling tests during DMV closures.
•    Recommended plans in case remote work is still required this fall.
•    Plus: A Q & A and opportunity to share best practices.

The webinar panelists are Max Christensen, executive officer for school transportation at the Iowa Department of Education; Derek Graham, a consultant and former state director of pupil transportation in North Carolina; Pam McDonald, the director of transportation for Orange (Calif.) Unified School District; and Michael Shields, the director of transportation services at Salem-Keizer Public Schools in Salem, Ore.

The one-hour webinar will take place on Wed., April 22 at 9 a.m. PDT/12 p.m. EDT. Click here to register.
