Ohio District Launches Stopfinder App
Parma City Schools in Ohio recently adopted Transfinder’s parent app that provides real-time updates and communication features for families. The district is encouraging parents to download the Stopfinder app to receive updates on bus locations and to provide advanced communication between parents and the transportation department.
According to a district release, the Stopfinder app “aims to give parents more visibility and communication channels regarding their children’s bus transportation.”
The app allows parents to see their student’s bus schedule and location in real-time, as well as set up GeoAlerts to receive notifications when the bus arrives at school. Parents can also directly message the transportation department through the app, such as to report a child not riding the bus. The district can then send out notices to specific schools, buses, or bus stops.
“This app has so many different levels to it,” Transportation Supervisor Brett Campbell said. “Not only can parents see their student’s bus schedule and information, but the app also gives a real-time location so they can see exactly where the bus is.”
The district is still working to get more parents to sign up for the new Stopfinder app.
