FORT MYERS, Fla. — On Friday, four Lee County Public Schools elementary students were stuck with one of several hypodermic needles that a student found at a school bus stop.
Joe Donzelli, director of communications at the school district, said that the students' school bus driver found out about the incident while on route to school and pulled over. The driver contacted officials at the district’s transportation department, who then contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, according to a story on WBIR.com.
A deputy who responded to the incident found three hypodermic needles on the bus.
The sheriff's office is reportedly not investigating the incident, as officials said it was an accident and no crime took place.
They also said that all of the needles will be destroyed, according to the story.
