KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Seon revealed the winners of its anti-bullying “A Bully-Free Zone” coloring contest held in October — National Bullying Prevention Month — here at the National Association for Pupil Transportation Summit this week.
The competition drew over 500 entries submitted from almost 50 school districts across Canada and the U.S.
“We first launched an anti-bullying coloring contest in 2013 under the topic ‘Bullies Aren’t Cool’ to inspire educators, children, parents and school bus transportation staff for a discussion and activities to prevent bullying,” said Lori Jetha, marketing communications manager of Seon. “The contest was a success, and this year we organized it again to attract more attention to this important cause. Our team was impressed [with] how creative the colorings were and how strongly both kids and adults cared about creating a safe community without bullying. We thank all the participants for their hard work.”
Based on creativity, coloring skill and overall artistic abilities, Seon staff selected winners in three age categories:
• 5-7 years old – Welden Wyse, 7, from Archbold Elementary School, Ohio
• 8-10 years old – Marianna Peralta, 10, from Collier Elementary School, Arizona
• 11 years and older – Cindy Tsou, 13, from Kapolei Middle School, Hawaii

Each winner will receive a Seon stuffed teddy bear and official anti-bullying supporter medal. In addition to these prizes, the company will award the school of each winner with a Bully Project DVD and Educator’s Kit and a $500 donation to go toward anti-bullying education.
“It’s important that school districts continue their great work on spreading awareness about bullying and teaching kids how to handle it,” Jetha said. “In its turn, Seon will keep on supporting the cause and providing resources for educators to help create a safe and respectful environment for our children.”
