LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — The Behind-the-Wheel Trainers and Classroom Instructors conference, which was to be held at a Holiday Inn here Oct. 9-11, has been canceled.
The Pupil Transportation Safety Institute (PTSI) cited the downturn in the economy as the reason for the cancelation, but it also signaled that the event will be re-launched in the future.
“Because we believe this is a worthwhile endeavor that will benefit many transportation professionals, we will contact you again when the economic picture brightens and we can revive our plans for a Fall Classic Conference,” PTSI said in an announcement posted on its Website.
The conference was to offer interactive sessions to help school bus driver and attendant instructors develop their training, presenting and coaching skills, both in the classroom and behind the wheel. PTSI said that those who have already paid their registration fees will be refunded soon. Those who have made room reservations at the Holiday Inn should call (315) 457-1122 to cancel.
