ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) has released details about its 2008 International School Bus Driver Safety Competition and Annual Meeting and Convention, which will be held in Calgary, Alberta.

Activities for the 38th Annual International School Bus Driver Safety Competition will run from July 19-20. Drivers from across the U.S. and Canada will compete against each other and showcase their driving skills and best practices.

NSTA member Southland Transportation will provide interested convention delegates and guests with free transportation for a trip to Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta, on July 20.

Finally, the EPA’s Jim Blubaugh and representatives from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Transport Canada will be on hand to speak during the General Session scheduled for July 21.

The Calgary Hyatt Regency will host NSTA’s Annual Meeting and Convention, to be held July 19-23. The hotel is currently offering a special nightly rate for convention attendees. Those who wish to take advantage of it can call (800) 233-1234 and ask for the National School Transportation Association rate. Rooms must be reserved by June 20.
