Navistar Honors 35 Key Suppliers With ‘Diamond’ Status

The IC Bus parent company bestows its Diamond Supplier Award on a group that represents the top 2% of its supply base.

LISLE, Ill. — IC Bus parent company Navistar recognized 35 of its top-performing suppliers with its annual Diamond Supplier Award last week.

Navistar said that the select group, which represents 2% of the company’s supply base, exceeded performance expectations for quality, delivery, technology, and cost.

“The companies we recognize with the Diamond Supplier Award stand out from the rest for the outstanding level of support they provide in helping us deliver the highest level of quality and value to our customers,” said Dave McKean, chief procurement officer for Navistar. “These suppliers have earned this recognition by demonstrating a shared, unwavering commitment to quality, customer value, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.”

From freight and engineering services to electronics, powertrain components, and advanced safety systems, the Diamond Supplier Award recognizes suppliers from all around the world. Navistar noted that the recipients include a diverse group of companies owned and operated by women, minorities, and veterans.

“Enabled by partnerships with some of the world’s finest suppliers, 2018 was a fantastic year for Navistar,” McKean said. “Following a year of such achievements, the Diamond Supplier Awards are about pausing to recognize these suppliers who surpassed expectations, reached excellence, and allowed us to perform to our potential.”

T/CCI Manufacturing, which is a supplier of compressor technology, issued a press release about receiving the Diamond Supplier Award.

“To be recognized as a world-leading supplier by Navistar two years in a row is an incredible recognition, and a testament to the quality of our work, products and service,” said Richard Demirjian, president of T/CCI Manufacturing. “Through strategic positioning of our team and facilities throughout the world, we’re able to build a network that delivers on the highest quality of products and service to our customers from North America to Asia.”

Safety and braking systems supplier Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems also issued a news release about earning the Diamond Supplier Award for the fourth consecutive year.

“Our passion for exceptional quality, service, and support at all levels is unwavering, and we believe it all begins with a strong relationship built on trust,” said Carlos Hungria, chief operating officer for Bendix. “We are proud of the work we do with our colleagues at Navistar, and will continue to strive daily to achieve these standards."

In addition, Prestolite Electric, a supplier of heavy-duty alternators and starters, also issued a press release about being recognized with the Diamond Supplier Award.

“We’re proud to contribute to the Navistar network and provide best-in-class performance, quality, and customer support,” said Allan Vincent, OEM sales director for Prestolie Electric. “It’s truly an honor to receive this distinction for a second consecutive year and places us in a new class of Navistar suppliers.”
