Pat McManamon, president of the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS), on June 5 accepted the resignation of President-Elect Pat Schofill of Georgia.

"We thank him for his service to NASDPTS and wish him all the best," McManamon said in a news release. Schofill, previously the state pupil transportation director in Georgia, is transitioning to a new position with a local district.

The NASDPTS board met in Indianapolis, Indiana, and approved Mike Simmons of Arkansas (moving up from secretary) to replace Schofill as president-elect and Mike Bullman of South Carolina to complete Simmons' term as secretary.

"Many of you know Mike Simmons," McManamon said, "but for those who don't, Mike served as NASDPTS president 2011-2012 and the association is fortunate to be able to call upon him once again."

McManamon noted that Bullman is a newer state director, "but he is well known within the industry thanks to his many years of service."

It has not yet been announced who will succeed Schofill as transportation director for the state of Georgia.
