Motorist pleads innocent in illegal bus-passing incident
Earlier this month, Shena Hardin was caught on video driving on a sidewalk to get around the bus, and she was ticketed by police. On Tuesday, she pleads not guilty to charges of not stopping for a school bus and reckless operation.
CLEVELAND — A woman who was captured on video driving on a sidewalk to pass a stopped school bus earlier this month and cited by police has pled not guilty to the incident, Fox 8 reports.
As previously reported, 32-year-old Shena Hardin was driving with her mother in the car on Sept. 11, and footage shows her driving her Jeep on the sidewalk to get around the bus. Police were waiting for her, and she was ticketed.
At the time, Hardin’s mother said that the bus was taking a long time, and that her daughter was running late. She said that her daughter made the move to “give that bus plenty of room.”
Hardin was charged by police with not stopping for a school bus and reckless operation.
Fox 8 reports that the front portion of Hardin’s alleged detour path is the entrance to a local day care.
