JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The members of a Missouri House committee decided earlier this week not to vote on amendments that would have increased money for public school transportation.
The measures would have provided an additional $35 million in funding for the service. They would have also increased by $5 million money for the state's A+ scholarship program for community college students, according to a story on connectmidmissouri.com.
The panel decided to stick with Gov. Jay Nixon's previous recommendation of $98 million in bus funding for the upcoming school year.
In January and February, Nixon released $7.5 million and $10 million, respectively, for school transportation costs, as SBF previously reported.
