Kentucky school bus involved in fatal collision

HARLAN, Ky. — A school bus and a car collided on a highway here on Friday morning, killing the motorist and sending the occupants of the bus to the hospital.
At 7:06 a.m., police received a call of a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus on U.S. 119 in the Blair community of Harlan County, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. State troopers responded to the collision.
A preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2007 black Honda Accord crossed the center line of U.S. 119, striking a school bus head-on as it was traveling on the highway.
The driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the scene by the Harlan County Coroner. No other occupants were in the car. A student, teacher’s aide and the driver of the bus were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
