WESTFIELD, Ind. — Seating safety product manufacturer IMMI has opened a new manufacturing facility in Tulsa, Okla., near IC Bus’s plant in an effort to make partnering on equipping the school bus manufacturer’s buses with its products more efficient.

The 45,000 square-foot facility, located near IC Bus's plant on 3626 N. Mingo Rd., will be used to assemble and line set (setting up the seats in the exact configuration for the bus) IMMI’s SafeGuard lap-shoulder belts and integrated child seats for IC Bus’s school buses.

IMMI’s new plant will bring nearly 30 new jobs to the community, according to the seating products supplier.

“We are excited to join the Tulsa community while partnering with IC to deliver the safest and best-engineered school bus seat on the market to millions of children across the U.S.,” said Larry Gray, CEO of IMMI. “IC has been an industry leader of school bus manufacturers, and it’s been an honor for IMMI SafeGuard to be their trusted seating supplier for more than a decade.”

Gray added that IMMI saw the need to have a location closer to IC Bus to keep up with the school bus manufacturer’s growth as more school districts choose to include school buses equipped with seat belts in their fleets
