LISLE, Ill. — IC Bus has updated its Type D school bus line with new features under the hood and inside the bus.
The new RE Series is now in full production, IC Bus announced on Thursday. Trish Reed, vice president and general manager, said that the company is making investments in its products to provide “different and better options” for school transportation.
“We are excited about the state-of-the-art safety and OnCommand Connection remote diagnostics that we’ve engineered on the newly updated RE Series,” Reed said. “We are confident that this bus will be loved by both drivers and fleet owners and operators for its remarkable ease of driving, maintenance, and service.”
The RE Series is now powered by the Cummins L9 diesel engine, which is rated up to 300 horsepower and 860 lb.-ft. of torque.
In addition to the new engine, IC Bus said that the RE Series now offers such features as enhanced interiors, maximum passenger capacity, and the all-makes OnCommand Connection remote diagnostics system.
