Durham School Services wins Mississippi contract
The contractor began providing student transportation services to Hinds County School District on Aug. 11. The 105 new buses are equipped with air conditioning systems, GPS, video cameras and electronic child-check reminder systems to help ensure student safety.
WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Durham School Services has begun providing student transportation services for Hinds County School District in Raymond, Miss.
School started for Hinds County students on Aug. 11, and Durham provided 105 brand new buses equipped with air conditioning, GPS, multi-head video cameras and electronic reminder devices designed to ensure children are not left unattended on the bus.
The new safety standards and equipment proposed by Durham were a large factor in the school district’s decision to switch to Durham from their previous student transportation provider.
“Hinds County is extremely pleased with the improved transportation services and cost savings that Durham has brought to our school district. As a rural school district with very long bus routes, our parents and community are very excited about the new fleet, which provides our students with buses that are safe, air-conditioned and fuel efficient,” said district Superintendent Dr. Stephen Handley.
“Durham School Services is proud to partner with the Hinds County School District and is pleased with the smooth transition to our services,” added David Brabender, region vice president at Durham. “We look forward to being a part of the Hinds County community for many years.”
