AURORA, Ind. — Twenty-one people, including 19 students, are injured after a school bus collided with a garbage truck on Wednesday morning, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. (Note: It was previously reported by the news source that 20 people, including 18 students, were injured.)
Sgt. Stephen Wheeles of Indiana State Police said in a tweet that troopers from Dearborn County responded to a crash involving a school bus on State Road 350 at Mt. Sinai Rd. near Aurora. Wheeles added in another tweet that the bus driver and students on board were transported to the hospital for “mostly minor injuries and complaints of pain.” Eric Lows, superintendent for South Dearborn Community School Corp., told the Cincinnati Enquirer that most of the injured students are in middle and high school, and that one student was taken to a local children’s medical center for severe injuries.
