Blue Bird has unveiled the fourth generation of its Vision Propane Type C school bus.

As with the previous model, the new propane bus runs on a Ford/ROUSH CleanTech powertrain. According to Blue Bird, the new model exceeds emission standards, with virtually zero emissions, and has enhanced fuel economy with its EconoShift optimization.

“We and our partners continue to innovate and develop affordable, industry-leading products that our school bus customers want and value,” said Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird.

New features of the Vision Gen 4 Propane school bus include:

• Easier serviceability due to repositioned sending units and pre-injector filters, along with O-ring sealed fuel lines and a new optional Euro-style fill connector.

• Increased reliability, with infinitely variable speed dual fuel pumps and thinner fuel rails that reduce start time up to 50%, according to Blue Bird.

Attendees at the STN Expo in Reno, Nevada, will be able to ride the Vision Gen 4 Propane bus on Tuesday and Wednesday.
