Markus Videnieks has left ASBC after serving as coordinator since 2012. He is seen here presenting ASBC’s School Bus Champion Award to Magda Dimmendaal last year.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — After about three years with the American School Bus Council (ASBC), Markus Videnieks has left his coordinator post to pursue other opportunities.

“The associations and companies who serve on the Council wish to thank Mr. Videnieks for his dedicated service to the Council since 2012 and for his assistance to all those who benefit from ASBC’s products and services,” ASBC said in a statement.

Videnieks came to ASBC in November 2012 after working as a vice president at a government relations firm in Washington, D.C.

As ASBC’s coordinator, he worked with council members on such initiatives as the annual Love the Bus main event and the School Bus Champion Award.

ASBC officials said that they will soon announce details on their search for a new coordinator. In the meantime, inquiries to ASBC can be directed to info@AmericanSchoolBusCouncil.com or (866) 955-2722.

ASBC is a coalition of student transportation associations and school bus manufacturers. Members include NAPT, NASDPTS, NSTA, Blue Bird, IC Bus, and Thomas Built Buses.
