The Waterbury (Conn.) Police Athletic League will use this new bus — donated by All-Star Transportation — to shuttle students to a variety of activities, including sports, music, and homework help.

WATERBURY, Conn. — A new school bus donated by All-Star Transportation will be used to shuttle students to educational, athletic, and recreational programs.

The donated bus joins the Waterbury Police Athletic League’s (PAL’s) fleet of vehicles. The propane-powered bus is expected to improve PAL’s ability to provide transportation for children participating in a variety of activities and programs, including sports, music, and homework help.

PAL is a not-for-profit organization that promotes partnerships between youth, law enforcement, and the community. In addition to offering programs that emphasize learning and fitness, PAL runs a summer camp for elementary school students and a summer youth employment program for teenagers.

“This new bus will allow us to expose more children in Waterbury to the programs PAL has to offer,” said Deputy Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo, president of the PAL board of directors. “We value the partnerships we’ve created with local businesses like All-Star Transportation and appreciate their commitment to providing opportunities for children in our community.”

“We recognize the positive impact PAL has on our community through programs that build positive relationships between city children and police officers,” said John Dufour, owner of All-Star Transportation, which also donated a bus to PAL about a decade ago. “All-Star is proud to support PAL by helping the organization reach more children who will benefit from its programs.”

The bus features Waterbury PAL’s blue and yellow color scheme and is decorated with photos of local children participating in PAL programs. Worx Branding designed the wrap, and Sign Pro devoted more than 210 man hours to installing it. Chrome wheels were donated by Zeller Tire.
