Shaw is the executive director of the American Blockchain Council. Blockchain is a developing technology that uses “a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography,” as Wikipedia defines it.

At the NAPT conference, Shaw will give a presentation titled “The Future of Blockchain Technology in the Student Transportation Industry.” NAPT said in an announcement that Shaw will discuss “why and how the student transportation industry must utilize products and services that enable us to stay ahead of the competition.”

Shaw has provided advisory services to such technology firms as IBM, SAP, and Oracle, and he has worked with Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, Coca-Cola, and Allstate.

As previously reported, the three other keynote speakers on tap for the NAPT conference are:

• Stacey Bess, an educator and author who has taught homeless children in a shed called “The School With No Name.”
